First there was Joan of Orc.
Then there was Orcsama bin Laden.
Then came Orcsef Stalin, Saddam Orcsein, Georc W. Bush, Bill Clintorc, Jaques Chirorc, Mao Zeorc, Adorc Hitler, and Winston Churchorc.
Cole, this is all your fault. Rumors of my coming up with everything but Joan of Orc are a vicious lie. So are the rumors about my having way too much free time.
In all seriousness though, what free time? Tonight's homework:
Stalin Book #1: pgs 1-7
Stalin Book #2: pgs xviii-49
And as much of
3xPlutarch's Lives
Greece Book #1: pgs 162-219, 346-386
as I can get done.
And that's just the first day. And that's not counting the 40 pages worth of papers or the work for tomorrow night for the other two classes. Welcome to college, boys and girls.
Posted by Dwip at April 1, 2003 8:24 PMAt least you get to take classes you like. Actually, tonight's not too bad: 6 pages of history reading, study questions in English, a bunch of math problems, review the rules for long and short vowels in Latin verse, fix a powerpoint presentation and e-mail it to my bio teacher, and read an article on tapeworms.
See, at least be glad you're not in HS. :)
Posted by: Regina at April 2, 2003 4:39 PMI'm taking what I want to take NOW. This is the first term in the 4 years I've been in college that I have no required non-history classes. The freedom from that is a great feeling. But it took 4 odd years of pain to get there, so...
And I remember HS pretty well. And it sucked. But listening to what you've been taking in school, feel blessed by the opportunity to take things like Latin, because my HS and even my college don't offer it, and I'd kill to take a full year course. *shrug*
Nothing QUITE beats Health class though. A more boring class, I cannot imagine.
Posted by: Dwip at April 2, 2003 4:46 PMLatin is a wonderful things, yes. :) And health class is really really a pain. Especially when they're doing things like giving you a lecture on the dangers of smoking, then holding up a jar and saying "This is how much pleghm a person with emphysema will cough up in a day." *gag*
But sounds like you're taking really cool courses, though. :)
Posted by: Regina at April 3, 2003 7:25 PMBelieve me when I say that's the sort of Health class I should've been taking. Mine had us watching crappy 80s afterschool specials.
And yes, the courses I'm taking are cool, which I imagine I'll elaborate on when I have time to slow down and write something. Busy life.
