Die, fucker. Only had to plink you to death over the course of half an hour. No big deal. No, the +21% all resistances/+1 dex crown shield, the super mana potions, and the 2 super heal potions weren't worth it, particularly. Didn't even pay for the merc ressurect. But the way is clear, now.

Or the bit where I'm stuck now, which are boring as all hell but need to be completed to move on. Which is why I stopped playing for a while, more or less. The hour spent trying to do in the Arreat Summit mobs was more than I cared to spend.

You could argue that pain releases endorphins, thus making you feel good, but I hardly suspect that that is the case with video games.
I think it boils down to something like we have no lives, no friends, and nothing better to do because we've already done everything else.
