An Update

So I needed a break from figuring out the convoluted early history of Elven civilization in Duranth. I hate it when I totally abandon actual historical lessons and have to deal with thousand-year wars. Gah.

Anyway.

I've started playing HRE again. Firebird gave me his writeup, and hopefully Marechal will have that and his own writeup ready to post soon. As for me, I've a 17 y/o Emperor with a broke province to deal with. Aeeyah.

One of these days we might even play some Tharavel, except for how everybody's being assholish about giving me characters. So maybe not. Oh well.

Until then, there's MWDA.

So I picked up my last week's Fellowship prize yesterday. A 4-pack of limited edition Swordsworn infantry. Nice troops. Almost immediately, I am leaped upon by multiple people wanting to trade for them. In the end, I trade them off in exchange for a random Swordsworn Balac chopper, a limited edition Spirit Cat Centurion, an LE Cat Ocelot, and an LE merc Cygnus, which is like the second best mech in the game. This is good. This is very very very good.

The game itself was random jungle fighting with a bunch of special rules, which added up to make me decide to try out the Really Big Mech With Infantry theory of combat. It worked well. Angie and 6 assorted battle armors camp on map, ignore random flunky lesser fools, and blow the hell out of them. This was good enough to win me a game decisively, and lose two other games - one decisively, one not so much. Hella fun.

And now, back to your regularly scheduled historical scribblings.
