Instead of my standard complaints about my ISP sucking the good suck, as it were, I shall instead reprise that great quote of yesteryear, which was true in that time, just as it is today:
bash.org:
Me: "Monroetel lives!"
Clyos: "cept ours is a 80s Trans Am on cinder blocks, it doesn't move"
In other news, I have been somewhat remiss in my blogging lately, for which I have essentially no excuse. I fear you may never see the rumored bloggage of my adventures amongst the youth of today, but most anybody who cares has heard what there is to hear already.
In Praxis news, I got my scores back for the Praxis I (Praxis II English scores are MIA), and...well, there was a freaking giant hole in the envelope, like somebody tried to take a bite out of it. Strangest thing I ever saw. But at least I owned. 184 of 190 Reading, 179 of 190 Writing, and 185 of 190 Math, or something like that. But it was a pathetic test, so whatever.
Had my interview with Western on Thursday, as pretty much the final step deciding if I'm in or out. And, well, it was an interview. People thought I did well, I thought I sucked, so reality is somewhere in between. We'll know one way or the other in two weeks or so.
On a totally removed note, I picked up the Best of Counting Crows CD at the library the other day on a whim, because, well, why not. And so I'm driving down the road, and I have no idea what any of these songs are, and I'm pretty much like "Everything but Long December sucked" and all of a sudden my speakers are blaring out Mr Jones And Me, and I'm like "Holy shit! I didn't know Counting Crows did this song!" So pretty much I spent the rest of the day listening to that and waxing randomly nostalgic.
Perceptive readers will remember my attitudes towards rock music of the mid-90s.
Which I've been hearing a lot more of lately, for some reason. Because, while the totally awesome oldies station in Portland apparently died, and the one in Corvallis sucks as much as it is possible to suck, the Portland one apparently got replaced by a station that plays all sorts of random crap all the time, at least half of which I think is awesome, and much of which is stuff I haven't heard in forver. Cue this with finding another station that plays a lot of 90s stuff (some good, some very very bad), and I am a happy rabbit.
HAPPY, as the saying goes.
From screenshots, it appears that the Internet icon in Civ 4 is Al Gore's head. How freaking hilarious is that, I ask you.
Posted by Dwip at October 17, 2005 12:04 AMAll hail the monroetel quote.
Posted by: Clyos at October 17, 2005 11:15 AMYay for stations that play random stuff all the time. I'm a fan of ours. Philly has no alternative station any more, but at least we have two classic rock stations and two rock stations.
