Watching speeches from the DNC right now. Lots of things I could say about it - Kerry was actually pretty good, the Clintons somewhat less so, Biden really really good, about holy crap do they script these things or what - but I've pretty much given up blogging politics these days, and I think that's probably a good idea.
That having been said, you know what I think is really really interesting about this thing, and what's really cool? Here we are, in 2008, with a bunch of mostly white dudes, many of whom are from former slave states, standing up to give big speeches in support of a black dude running for the highest office in the nation. And what's cooler is, with the exception of strange-thinking folk like me, this probably isn't even a big deal to a lot of people.
Also, I suspect that it's making a lot of dead Confederates spin in their graves, which I suggest would make a fine solution to the energy crisis.
But you know what I find really hilarious? This:
Your Interstate system is completely fucking ridiculous. Please stop this immediately. You do not need I 95 and I 295 to work like that. For real.
