Happily Ever After |
| And Atomic Theory, we note, is worth about this much:
Ka-ching! And this for Rome:
And lo, Wall Street finally completed in 1430AD.
And then in 1440, our MPP with France runs out, and peace is signed. And lo, 1450 AD sees the first Commercial Dock in all of Numidia.
Also of note, this is the first year my treasury breaks 10k. And in the rest of the world, everyone signs military alliances against France. World beatdown on the tech leader! The world tech leader, incidentally, has flight. As do I. As does everyone else. And by 1475 AD, I'm pulling over a thousand gold per turn. In 1480, Electronics comes up for grabs, but is going to cost over 7k gold. Not quite ready for that yet. Then again... 6570 gold to Joan for Electronics in 1485 AD, paying full second civ prices. I wait a couple turns for Utica to get a nice head start on Hoover, then sell off Electronics to Spain for 780 gold and 89 gpt. In 1500 AD, Elizabeth lands a singular cavalry near Rusicade. Sneak attack? Probably. How annoying. A bit of re-arranging infantry, and if she DOES sneak attack me, nothing will happen. Sure enough. She attacks, she dies. I'm not THAT weak. In 1530 we trade 6300 gold for Radio, then turn around and sell it to Spain for 410 gold plus 124 gpt. Whee. And then, for the other big news of the year, Hoover Dam comes in.
The next turn, I pay 5500 gold to Spain for Motorized Transportation, then turn around and sell to France for 1400. Talk about tech devaluation. And of course none of the scientific civs are left, so we're all waiting on France or Spain to get us some tech. In 1545 I declare peace on England. Aside from the 110 gold she got from me, that was the most pointless war ever. And then, the next turn, she demands saltpeter, which I offered to sell her at the peace negotiations, and when I say no, declares war! The mind, it boggles. And Joan wants 17,600 for Rocketry. No, thank you. Fortunately, the next turn there is peace with Spain, and the price falls to 7,600. That I'll take. And in 1605 there is peace once again with England. In 1635, I buy Computers off Spain for 8600. France had it for 5 turns or so, but I'm not paying any 20k gold. Also this year, my cities are all finally protected by vet troops. And in 1640, France starts the UN. Ruh-roh. And she's not trading, either. By 1675, she wants 22k+ for it, and I'm not willing to pay. Give it two turns before I start spying. Those two turns go by, and...I fail the spy attempt. Joan isn't pleased with me, but is still polite. I'll give it one more turn...And in 1690 for the princely sum of 20,500 gold, I pay up for Fission. UN ETA in 5 turns. And in 1695, things get...nervous...
I THINK they're on their way to kill India in the massive global war that just broke out, but...uh...Nice Spain. Have a ROP. Good Spain. Sure enough, they were after India. The sigh of relief can be heard across the Empire. While I'm at it, I start signing ROPs and gifting resources left and right. And I seemingly made it.
Look ma, a Golden Age!
But can I win the vote?
Yes, yes I can. 11 hours, 39 minutes, 0 seconds later, 3310 points, and I am RBCiv-25 the Magnificent. This would have been score number 3 on my Hall of Fame, but for some reason it didn't record. Ah well. As for the score for the Epic, assuming I understand this right: 1000 - Victory 4000 - UN President 1500 - Built UN (maybe. I used SETI as a partial prebuild. Does this count?) 200 - Built Hoover 1000 - 5 Gold resources in 1000 AD ----- 7700 19488 - Ending treasury +8% - Democracy Golden Age (All 1 turn of it, but it WAS my entire GA...) +x% - Marketplace 10 BC +x% - Bank (post-560, pre-760, probably around 650 or so. I forgot to check) +x% - Stock Exchange 1305 AD +x% - Harbor 410 BC +x% - Wall Street 1430 AD +x% - Commercial Dock 1450 AD -x% - UN 1710 AD |
