| In Abe's Country |
| And it all begins moving very fast all of a sudden.
"All right Flunkius, summon the troops. Abe's demanded his last."
After selling our soul to Shaka for Math, we dial up Abe. "Hi, Abe? I just wanted to let you know. You're ugly. You have two cities on OUR land, and you've demanded your last from us. Die." The results are pretty predictable. And after spending our sudden +3 to +48 (!) gpt boost to buy Currency and Construction from Shaka, we hunker down, deal with resisters, and make peace:
Just in time for:
"Well Flunkius, that went quite well, don't you think?" "Yes Chief. Most excellent. We have two more pathetic cities, we own our continent, and we're all getting rich." "Ah, but that's not all, is it Flunkius? We're now in the Middle Ages, are we not?" "Yes Chief. Though Egypt just built Copernicus, which is worrisome. But with this boost, we should do alright." And something I just noticed:
Heh. And as it happens, Abe's little war with the Zulu went VERY badly for him, to the point at which he's getting run over VERY quickly. Fortunately, we're ready for such things:
Mad Zulu skillz or no, we still take Atlanta and Chicago in the first turn, and, uh, get declared on by the Zulu. Ok, obviously they REALLY wanted Chicago. "Well, Flunkius, that was certainly unexpected." "Ah, yes Chief. It was. The, uh, Zulu have a lot of, er, knights, Chief. We, uh, don't, Chief." "Ah, Flunkius, but we have Munchkin Warriors. Cheaper, attack just as well for no apparent reason. We'll show these Zulu who's boss."
"I dunno, Chief. That's a lot of longbows." For comparison's sake, that's after he killed about 15 of my Munchkins and I killed about half as many knights. It was...ugly. Which means both my American cities fall the very next turn. But I make peace with Abe for Theology and Invention, so it's not totally lost. And just in the nick of time, and I mean JUST:
I make peace with Shaka for 17 gpt on my part. "Well Chief, that hurt. Munchkin Warriors against guns is hard." "Yes, Flunkius, but look at it this way: Our cities have nothing else to build. And Atlanta has Leonardo's Workshop of all things." "Whatever you say, Chief." |
