Medieval: Total War
Medieval: Total War is an enormously addictive game by a bunch called Creative Assembly.  It occupies a space somewhere between Civilization III's abstract country management, and generic RTS-style combat.  Your goal is to conquer Europe, and the CA bunch gives one three different eras and ten or fifteen factions with which to do it, each of which has their own unique units and play style.  The expansion pack, Viking Invasion, gives you another era to play in, with another eight or ten factions and a bunch of new units.

With all that, replayability is pretty high.  What's more, each game is pretty long - a month or more real time to play, sometimes.  Combined with a system where your kings and generals live and die and have unique statistics and personalities, playing a game of M:TW can be sort of like writing a book.  In fact, people have been known to do things like create family trees for each game they play, just to do it.

Me, I'd never do anything like that.  No.  Never.

The Holy Roman Emperors - The second Tonto Clan PBM SG, played by Tonto_Firebird, Tonto_Marechal, and myself as the HRE, Early/Expert.  Currently unfinished.
