Marius' Rant of the Day, 3/19/01

Ok, this isn't a rant, really, but hey.

It's been a strange day... On one hand, I had to do a bunch of work in preperation for finals. That was bad.

But then it got better. Tired of being uncomfortable, and needing more furniture for my room, I went for a drive home (didn't hurt that today was a nice day). Whereupon I got involved with looking at old family pictures with Mom. This was, of course, very entertaining (I thought so, at any rate). It did look sort of strange seeing pictures of my grandparents when they were really young, not to mention baby pictures of my mom. Not to mention various random pictures of people from like the turn of the century that we had no idea who they were. The usual response was something like:

Mom: Who the hell are YOU!?

Me: LOL.

Then we found Grandma's old high school yearbooks and stuff... Heh heh heh. Her school had like 2,000 people in it, which is bigger than about half of the county I live in. And back in the 30s, they had all sorts of clubs and things, seems like... including a bunch of ones we couldn't decide what they were about.

Amusing moment: Contrast these. First, a picture of a cheerleader wearing a dress. A long dress. Then to some girl in a play or something, wearing a Navy dress coat, and, well, a Navy dress coat. Go figure, I guess.

Also worth noting that everyone in Grandma's high school looked about 30 at the youngest. Except like, oh, 5 people, INCLUDING Grandma. There were people in those pictures that looked about 70. It was bizzare. Plus they were all ugly. Mom and I were making (bad) jokes about it. Twas fun.

Then I came back, carting my stereo stand with me (which I sort of neglected to bring earlier). Fortunately, when I was rolling it up to the doors of the dorm, one of the wheels came off. So I got to pull this 3-wheeled stand thing around. Muchly annoying. I also learned that part of the whole sound problem I've been having lately is because I plugged one speaker in the wrong place, so I only had one speaker's worth of sound. DOH!

Fortunately, that's all fixed now, and Life Is Good(tm).
